Universal Support

Pupils have access to daily class room practices that are intended to give pupils opportunity to build self-esteem through positive experiences and opportunities to collaborate with others. At this stage there is a focus on wellbeing being promoted via the PHSCE, PE, Science and D and T (cooking) curriculum.

  • Classes deploy mechanisms to ensure that pupil voice is promoted and opportunities highlight when a pupils feels that they need support.
  • The classrooms and wider school is set up in such a way that there are safe spaces where a pupil (with support) can take part in activities designed to alleviate stress (including sensory intervention)
  • Celebration and rewards are a focal point of our community worship time as well as a staple part of any interactions between staff and pupils.
  • Daily communication with families
  • Staff report any concerns on CPOMS to ensure that advice is give from wellbeing leaders around the school.
  • There is a focus on belonging to a wider community as part of our preparation for adulthood curriculum

As a school we value:

  • The happiness of children, families and staff;

  • Caring staff who respect and know the children very well;

  •  The development of self-confidence, self-motivation and independence;
