Internal Intervention

In addition to wave 1 support pupils may be given access to some more targeted intervention. In this wave intervention will be delivered outside of the main class group by a member of the Ganton teaching staff. It may be that this is done under the guidance of a key third party.

  • Pupils are screened through triangulating wellbeing from a number of sources.
  • Senior leaders discuss cases individually and assess impact at weekly wellbeing meetings with staff.
  • At this stage pupils may be allocated a key worker in school for informal work
  • In some cases pupils will be referred for in house ELSA sessions and these may be small groups sessions or one to one
  • Some pupils will have access to a bespoke package of sensory intervention as per our sensory curriculum
  • Pupils will have access to enhanced SRE sessions
  • Some pupils will have adaptations made to their curriculum through additional support plans
  • At this stage parents will be signposted and support with referrals to potential support mechanisms

As a school we value:

  • The happiness of children, families and staff;

  • Caring staff who respect and know the children very well;

  •  The development of self-confidence, self-motivation and independence;
